With over eleven years of business focused application development, and significant experience supporting and administering complex global and multi-database applications, I am well qualified to add value to any organisation that relies on Lotus Notes & Domino. I have excellent development, analysis and face to face communication skills and work well as a specialist consultant or within large multi-disciplinary teams.

I am IBM certified as an advanced application developer in Domino R7 and have over five years experience with Lotus Notes 7 including support of an upgrade from R5 to Notes 7 involving a switch from Windows to an AIX server environment. I have been working concurrently in R8 for almost a year and have several projects underway using this version.

I interact easily with users and application owners to refine project scope and prioritise development. I have been involved with the maintenance of many large, complex distributed applications and have project managed significant enhancements through the full development lifecycle.

The applications I have developed make full use of the capabilities of Lotus Domino including complex workflow and knowledge management systems and an extensively customised Lotus Mail template. I am an expert in the use of both LotusScript and Formula Language and have a through understanding of application security to control access to sensitive information.

I am skilled in the use of relational database query languages for both Oracle and SQL server and have developed enhanced and supported many applications that interact with relational databases. This is an area of significant expertise using LotusScript and Formula language. I have worked on many web enabled applications which has led to useful Domino skills for both new application development and ongoing enhancement including the use of CSS, Java & JavaScript to mirror Notes client functionality in Internet browsers.

I make extensive use of Ives Team Studio software for routine application development and for application version control. In various roles I have both developed and contributed to development, testing and deployment processes in order to minimise risk especially where legacy data is a factor, I am ITIL certified.

Previous Projects and Clients

Public Sector - Dept of Health (Consultant Analyst Programmer/ Lead Developer – Dec 2008 to March 2010)
Major redevelopment of multi-database document archive application accessed via customised Lotus Mail template. The customised Lotus Mail template was deployed in phased rollout to 5,200 staff. The updated template added new functionality and was well received being deployed without disruption. The project involved redesign of nine interconnect design templates appled to over 6,000 databases on five dedicated Lotus Domino servers with ten years of legacy data. Idea Management Company (Consultant Application Developer - Part-Time, Ongoing)
Redevelopment of internal applications to align with new business processes and development of new daily activity management reporting application for IT support staff. Oval Systems Ltd (Consultant Application Developer -July 2007 to Jan 2008)

Design and development of a complex supply chain packaging application, Initial design, data modelling and development of a prototype based on initial user requirements. The application will be accessed via both Notes Client and Internet Browser by a global user base.

Public Sector - Probation Service (Senior Analyst Programmer - Jan 2006 to June 2007)
  • I Re-engineered key processes in this complex multi-application database to significantly application performance. The project involved the development of complex new functionality and application support tools for ongoing system maintenance. I developed data analysis and data correction processes to correct application related data problems. The application was accessed by 5,000 plus public sector users in 40 geographic areas with Oracle to Notes and mail enabled data interchange.
  • I was a Senior permanent developer in a multi-disciplinary team and contributed to new application development, testing and deployment process redesign and had ongoing responsibility for new application development and reviewing design solutions for new requirements. I Analysed and prioritized over 300 legacy application problem reports for future development. I project managed and led several successful complex application upgrades through the full development lifecycle.

The majority of these in a contract role as a senior Lotus Notes Developer. The roles have all involved complex project management and strict version control and a strict application of best practise application development.
